thedailywhat: Mysterious Illness of the Day: A poorly treated skin condition has caused the face of a 26-year-old Vietnamese girl to wrinkle and wither, making her appear 50 years older. Nguyen Thi Phuong says her hardships began three years ago when she suffered an allergic reaction to some seafood. She developed an itchy rash that neither over-the-counter nor prescription medication were able to cure. Phuong even tried a traditional remedy provided by local Chinese medicine practitioners, but to no avail. In addition to be ineffective, the medicine also proved costly, forcing the Ben Tre province native to abandon all forms of treatment. She told local news outlets that she had decided to leave her recovery in the hands of God.
